An exclusive-use tequila room designed to take guests deeper into the spirit of Mexico, La Catrina is a natural extension of Barbossa’s electric spirit and Latin soul. Here, the focus shifts to immersive storytelling, ritual, and discovery, guiding guests through the rich and diverse landscapes of Mexico’s agave culture, from familiar favourites to rare, hard-to-find expressions.
At its core, the newly launched concept offers a curated Agave Journey through Mexico, with tapas, tailored cocktails, and tastings. Designed for small groups, the experience unfolds over a thoughtfully paced 90 minutes, moving from the bold, vibrant notes of Jalisco through to the depth and complexity of Oaxaca, before culminating in the wild, premium profiles of Sonora, Chihuahua, and La Sierra.
La Catrina’s exclusive drinks programme is a bold expression of Barbossa’s signature style – playful, flavour-driven, and rooted in authenticity. Serves include the largest selection of tequilas and mezcals on offer in the UAE and signature cocktails such as Vida Margarita, layered with mezcal, citrus, and subtle heat; the refreshing Mezcal Paloma; and the complex Oaxacan Mule, blending tequila and mezcal with citrus and spice. Alongside these, a rotating infusion menu introduces playful, flavour-driven twists – think mango with árbol chilli or strawberry with pink peppercorn – designed to expand the experience while staying true to the concept’s core identity.
For those looking to explore further, the Agave Tasting Flight offers a guided introduction to three distinct spirits, while a unique agave salt library featuring over 30 house-made blends that can be paired with Margaritas and select agave cocktails adds an unexpected, interactive dimension to each serve.

La Catrina at Barbossa is open Thursday to Saturday 6.30PM to 1AM. Barbossa is open Sunday to Wednesday noon to 1AM, Thursday to Friday noon to 3AM, and Saturday 1PM to 3AM.
